According to the respective requirements of the manufacturer, tolerable and non-tolerable parts have to be separated at the end of production by means of a quality inspection.
The dsound® USS4 sound sensor is used in the quality inspection of small parts to ensure faultless part quality. For this purpose, the sound sensor is trained in advance to identify the resonance frequencies of good parts. Necessary control parameters for the sound test are set. Small parts are excited externally. The sounds produced by excitation are compared with the trained sound patterns. This process then allows the separation of faulty and faultless parts.
