The acoustic cabin represents the heart of our acoustic measurement technology. Here, we carry out acoustic measurements for our product development and we calibrate the sensors for mass production.

Reproducible acoustic measurements require an anechoic chamber, calibrated measurement technology and sophisticated mechanics for positioning the test objects in front of the loudspeakers. We deliberately decided to make this investment as it allows quick and reliable measurements without having to rely on external service providers.

The acoustic properties of new sensors under development are also measured here. This is useful in case of changes in the acoustic path, for example with microphone covers. Since in the development phase new questions can arise from each measurement, it is important to have the possibility of modifying individual measurements to be able to determine other acoustic parameters. This, for example, can only be achieved with quickly adaptable control programs in an easily accessible – respectively our own – acoustic cabin.

Calibration in mass production ensures that the sensors will behave in the same way at the customer’s site later on when the systems are expanded or replaced, thus avoiding the expense of a new parameter setting. Having an easily and reliably accessible own acoustic cabin is an important advantage here as well. So delays for our customers can be avoided.
